2013 Summer School in Law and Economics: New Tools in Law and Economics

Study the Field of Law and Economics at its Birthplace

The University of Chicago is the birthplace of “Law and Economics,” and it continues to be the international center for the study of this interdisciplinary field. At the University of Chicago, such brilliant minds as Richard Epstein, Richard Posner, and Nobel laureates Gary Becker, Ronald Coase, and George Stigler have worked together for more than fifty years to change the foundation of legal analysis. Entire fields of law—antitrust, tort, contracts, corporate, and property law—have been completely transformed by Law and Economics, and nearly every area of law has been affected by it. Law and Economics is in every law class and casebook in America, and the tools of Law and Economics are now starting to be used all over the world.

We ask applicants to provide statements outlining background in law and economics, current research interest, and reasons for interest in attending the Summer School. Applicants must provide a current CV in English detailing educational background, employment history, and a list of publications.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted online by January 1, 2013.
Notification: Admission notices will be sent to applicants no later than January 21, 2013.
